How to measure a cover for a patio table-and-chairs set
A dining-set cover has to swallow the table and the chairs. The trick is to measure the whole cluster as one box, with a high point so rain drains.
Push the chairs in, then measure
Tuck the chairs under the table as far as they go. Measure the footprint of the whole cluster — longest side for width, the other side for depth — and the height to the tallest point (usually a chair back).
Give it a high point
A little height difference is good: measure to the tallest point so the cover peaks there and rain runs off instead of pooling. If everything's the same height, we can add a support-pole allowance — ask in the notes.
FAQ
Do I measure the table or the whole set?
The whole set — chairs pushed in. Measure the footprint of the cluster and the tallest point, and we cover it as one piece.
How do I stop water pooling on top?
Measure to the tallest point so the cover slopes; for flat setups we can add a support pole allowance — note it on the order.
